چکیده
Although the pandemic has remained fairly contained in Senegal, its economic impact been severe. Strong fiscal and monetary policy support helped bolster health system cushion shock, with additional spending exceeding 3 percent of GDP. The IMF disbursed US$442 million (100 quota) under RFI/RCF April to crisis response. An ambitious 2021–23 recovery plan aims build a more resilient economy inclusive private sector-led growth. WAEMU Finance Ministers agreed return GDP deficit anchor gradually (by 2023) owing pandemic’s security challenges Sahel.

We describe a nested polymerase chain reaction for the identification of Borrelia species from serum of patients with unidentified fevers. This technique, based on single nucleotide polymorphisms of the 16S ribosomal RNA gene, was used to test blood samples from 7,750 patients, 33 of whom were diagnosed with spirochete infections. Borrelia crocidurae was the only species identified.
